Question about transferring dota 2 to another hard drive. ok, so i bought a new hard drive (wd black 1tb) to replace my old hitachi. steamapps>steamapps>common>dota 2 beta. then choose to install dota 2 to an alternate location, which would be the directory your steamapps folder is in.. Can't install dota 2 to a new hard drive. so i got a new hard drive, an sdd and i've been trying to install dota 2 on there. however, it keeps installing to the drive it was on. i've tried deleting local files, moving the folder into my new drive and that won't work. i've tried deleting the whole game completely but that won't work either.. Just make a steamapps folder on your flash drive and then put the dota 2 beta folder in there. i think there's a way to choose your steamapps folder in steam. as long as you can transfer the files to the computer and install steam, you should be good to go..
